Kids in grades 1-6 can develop athletic skills by learning the basics of wrestling in our popular Mat Rat Wrestling program.

Kids in grades 1 & 2 will have a great time learning basic skills in this introduction to basketball.

Choose one day of fun or choose our 3-week program. Either way, your preschooler will have a great time!

Kids ages 8-16 can learn the game of Disc Golf with a Pro!

The 5-Hour Course is a prerequisite to the road test. Be ready!

This parent/child program combines yoga (for the parents) and climbing (for kids ages 5-7).

Help us spread good will and kind tidings to all this season! Join us for the second annual Hovey Holiday and tree lighting at Hovey Pond Park. Each family will bring an ornament with a message of kindness to hang on our tree; we'll be singing holiday songs with the Queensbury High School Madrigals and families will leave with a festive treat pack! Registration is limited!

Join us on Sunday, January 28, for Fat Tire Bike and 5K Snowshoe Races at Gurney Lane Recreation Area. It’s an awesome day of winter outdoor activity … and it’s for all ages!

Adult Exercise Cancellation Policy:

~ Stretch & Tone ~ If the Queensbury Union Free School District is closed or delayed due to inclement weather (snow/ice storms creating poor road conditions), Stretch & Tone will be CANCELLED. Please check the local TV and radio stations for school closing announcements. However, this does not include school closings or delays due to outdoor temperatures or non-weather circumstances. The class cancellation is related to hazardous road conditions-ONLY.

~ Yoga & Zumba ~ Yoga & Zumba programs will be cancelled based upon road conditions due to inclement and/or the severity of the weather. Program cancellation announcements will be available via the Department Website (recreation.queensbury.net), Facebook, E-mail notification and the Rained-Out cancellation alert notification system.

Have you ever wondered how artists create botanical illustrations? Lisa Mancini will show you how in the new program Botanical Illustration. She will walk you through her step-by-step process of mapping to get the shape and form of a plant specimen and then she'll teach you how to use colored pencils and non-toxic solvent for realism and artistic flair.
